Look at who is back lol.....

I have been practicing with my new 12.1 tablet and playing around in photoshop cs2 and cs5. I have way more that I have looming on my facebook that I will leak over here. Getting rejection letters from editors is forcing me to try even harder in the future...

Views from Above

Processing Plant, Pasadena, California USA

Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica, California USA
Some Los Angeles-area nighttime sketches from about three stories above ground, 25 miles (40 km) apart on opposite ends of town: looking at a processing plant from a rooftop in Pasadena, and a view from a bridge over busy traffic on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica.

California

A sunny California day, cruising down PCH on a convertible, enjoying the beach view and the surf. What else can you ask for?
If this was a photo, it would be the perfect one for a postcard, dont you think? :)
If you like this, please take the time to check some of my other drawings at my website: http://livetoillustrate.blogspot.com/
Comments are always appreciated!

P-47 and cats!

Some drawings I made for fun. The first one is all about my passion for airplanes, specially the WWII P-47. The other two are sketches I´m doing for a very beautiful cat lover that I "like". :)

Los Angeles Sketches: Snow!?

Thought I'd post a sort of a seasonal sketch here...This is a sketch from when I visited Palm Springs, which is about two-hours' drive east of Los Angeles - yes, it's in the desert, but there was snow in the mountains. It's quite amazing!

Sketches in Los Angeles

I'm Shiho Nakaza, and I like to draw - glad to join the Sketch Blogstars team! In addition to my regular blog at shihonakaza.blogspot.com, I plan to share sketches here with you.

I happened to go to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles early one morning, and when I saw this bike, I thought it makes a nice design element in the scene.

Sanctuary

"Sanctuary of Athena" -- was referenced from a calendar. Hope all are doing well. I'm working very hard to be a published novelist, so yeah that's what my life revolves around most of the time. Trying to finish my revamped version of book.01 by August -_-'.

Children's Illustration

Recently I was commissioned to work on a children's magazine. I kept my drawing simple, it was about shortage of water in India.. especially north India. These colors may change after an initial discussion, which is due sometimes next week. But I personally don't like to re-work on my colors.

More Hotness

I did these in the same day that I did the Heart Queen sketch.
The top 2 images were done in photoshop 7 when I created my digital sketching brush.
The 2nd version does not have the undersketch in the image. The 3rd picture is one of my mastercopies from Pino. On the last image (Pino mastercopy) I forgot how I did my master copy works. I have more pino suff on my blog and also in my cgtalk sketchbook thread.

Heart Queen

Click on the images to enlarge.
I was making some brushes in photoshop7 and I was trying to make a brush that could rival sketching in sketchbook pro, painter, and opencanvas for photoshop. All of a sudden I re-worked the basic round brush and my wacom tablet settings and boom a nice digital sketching brush. The fur around her neck was done by a custom brush I was messing with in photoshop also. I did not feel like opening up painter also alongside with photoshop. I am happy. Now I should be able to digital sketch with the best of them now hopefully when I feel like digital sketching. Pencils and paper are still better lol.
BTW Alina I was eating mint ice cream while I did this. I had to let you know :)
