Poolside Without the Pool

I sketched a building by the pool on a lazy Sunday afternoon - except I ran out of paper before I got to the bottom of the sketchbook page! So here it is, a poolside drawing without the pool.

Los Angeles River

I have been drawing with a group of other artists at Urban Plein Air Society in Los Angeles, and we have been exploring the Los Angeles River. There's no mistaking that the river, with its concrete bottom and graffiti, is in a metropolis, yet it is also home to wild birds and lush with plants. I enjoy capturing the different aspects of the river that can only be seen on foot. (More sketches from the series are posted on my blog.)

Blog/IM Novel

I have spent a lonnnnnng time writing my debut novel, and seeking representation for it. Recently I decided to publish it myself -- all's good so far.

The book will be available for free download for the rest of July, at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/2864.

I am also doing collabs with artists, so if you have anything to contribute/showcase -- let me know (more info on the EyeLeash website)!

PS: I also used a bunch of my old (and some new) art pieces for a book trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnRoFDRwMmw

Fake Jesus and the Italian

sketches while watching Passion of the Christ,
nothing too related but partially inspired.
It took me this long to watch it and it was pretty good. Considering it was the kind of movie everyone was expecting at the time.

Caricatures of June

People Sketches: At the Trade Show

People walking fast with bags of stuff, talking on the cell phones, vendors waiting at their booths and watching the passersby - all are common things about people at trade shows and conventions.

California

A sunny California day, cruising down PCH on a convertible, enjoying the beach view and the surf. What else can you ask for?
If this was a photo, it would be the perfect one for a postcard, dont you think? :)
